The Swiss Physical Society (SPS) plans to organize some additional sessions covering specific topics on Thursday, 16 March and Friday, 17 March 2000. The exact schedule is yet to be decided. More information about the Swiss Physical Society can be found at their homepage.

Session I: Swiss Physical Society Prizes
Chair: President of the SPS
In a public session, Swiss Physical Society will award the following three different prizes to young Swiss researchers.

  1. Prize for excellent research work conducted in any field of Physics, granted by the Asea Brown Boveri Corporation (ABB).
  2. Prize for outstanding contributions to Condensed Matter Physics, granted by International Business Machines Inc. (IBM).
  3. Prize for outstanding contributions to Applied Physics, granted by the Swiss Electrical Industry (VSE).

Session II: Directions in Theoretical Physics
Chair: R. Durrer (Univ. Geneva)

Session III: Recent Results in High Energy Physics at CERN
Chair: J. Jourdan (Univ. Basel)

Session IV: Applied Physics beyond the Condensed Matter
Chair: S. Alberti (EPFL Lausanne)
